This is the play report for the sixth session of my M-Com Monster of the Week campaign. Last session, one of the players took a second character as an advance and in this session the ancient sorceress shows how far beyond the modern magi she is.

In addition, she comes with some other interesting information.

This was an interesting situation where occasionally one of the players was talking to himself. After this, I expect the player will be switching between which of the two characters he’s playing at any given time.

Second of three episodes for the Summer mini-campaign for Masks RPG.

Kid Liberty is off doing government things with Steel Patriot but fortunately there is a new team member.

Rain, the Beacon, a young Japanese-American with skill in archery and phasing powers joins the rest of the team including:

Feral, the Bull, a daughter of two supervillains who survived their experiments on her.

Breach, the Reformed, once upon a time a lab assistant and inventor for a notorious villainous scientist and now a hero trying to make up for his past mistakes.

Brain Sucker, an alien from Venus who came to Earth to escape being made into a mindless subordinate queen in her hive mind society.

A run of the mill bank robbery ends in a bizarre tornado and the characters meet a young girl with interesting powers she’s just recently acquired.

Brigni, an Elite Tanker who runs a Mech Suit Pilot

Shiny Apple, a Soloist Summoner who runs a Cyborg Holomancer

Thiama Gaanza, a Native Boss-Killer who runs an alien assassin and quest-giver.

We had:

The Bull – Feral (Panther), the escaped daughter of two supervillains who experiment on their children to create minions.

The Outsider – Brain Sucker (Slues), an alien from a hive mind society who fled so as to avoid the fate of becoming a hive queen.

The Protege – Kid Liberty (Aiden Wells) who is pegged to become the next Steel Patriot after the current one retires. Only who wishes he were set to be a bit of an edgier identity.

The Reformed – Breach (Riley Perez), a gadgeteer kid who used to help a major villain create items to sell to villains but who has since turned a new leaf.

Also, due to the presence of telepathy, I had to reveal that I snuck the cast of Ranma 1/2 into the setting. The item in contention is based on a plot item from a anime addventure plot I contributed to a while back.

Tomorrow I have Divine Blood and I think I’ll make about six pre-gen psychic would-be reporters for the Bunyip Report in case anybody decides to try out my Fate-based system.

Well, this Sunday evening’s (for those in American time) scheduled event is up.  No players for this one (lots for tomorrow’s). I’ll be hanging around a couple of hours twiddling my thumbs to see if I have any late comers interested in playing.

Current plan is to use Monster of the Week to run the scenario…if people want to try my Divine Blood RPG, I do have pre-gens made as examples for this.

Anime mecha and psionics.

the doom and gloom of Lovecraft and Evangelion but with the slim hope of victory a la Macross or other anime?

(I will note I do tend to prefer Lovecraftian elements when the defeat of the Old Ones is difficult but possible…I love Punching Out Cthulhu…to use a trope name)
