I reallyreallyreally want to play Mage the Awakening (World of Darkness). But my players had trouble learning the rules even for the Mortals line.

Now I`m searching for a PbtA-game that could simulate this game closely (magic is powerful, but corrupts).

Sean Hess made an amazing playbook for Urban Shadows https://plus.google.com/105412788272878650505/posts/gM8F9YrQNLr

But I was wondering if you guys knew if any other system. Cheers!

Might be a stupid question, but is the book being sold on the http://apocalypse-world.com website the 2nd edition book? I assume it is, but it doesn’t directly say so and I wouldn’t want to find out the hard way that it’s the 1st edition one.

Hello there listeners!

The soap opera move: when you conspire & plot, roll+drama. On a hit, they do what you want them to do; on a 7-9, choose one:

– You are overheard: who else knows about your plot now?

– There is a misunderstanding: what do they do that you didn’t want?

– They make a demand: what do you have to do that they want?

I must look away from daytime TV while trying to work.

Hey!I have a question about NPCs in Urban Shadows.I think it’s kinda hard not to pre-think about the plot that involve basic NPCs.Let’s say our group goes to a bar, they meet a barwoman and she is like whatever they want her to be like…but!Maybe i want to spice things up and let her take a more interesting part in the campaign, if i am not prepared to tell them the reason she is important, if i stuck at the critical moment, the moment it’s needed, the moment will be gone for good… i guess not all things in this game are created in real time. What do you guys usually do?Prepeare some parts of the story just for backup?Or let it roll and see what happens?

Painful decisions.

So I think is time for me to kill my first darling in #NahualRPG and that will be removing the Furia stat. I love the name! But I just realized I’m now using it only in 1 move, the violence move. And I can easily assign that move to Garra. Being a game that uses animals as playbooks, I think Garra (Claw) is pretty much the one to keep.

Somewhere I heard/read that PbtA is all about “less is more” so, let’s see what happens if I remove it.

I have a question about James Mullen ‘s The ‘Hood.

When you reach enough experience you can choose ‘Advance a basic move’ or ‘Advance a move from your playbook’ but I haven’t found advancements for peripheral moves like Get rough or Open fire, neither for playbooks moves.

I’m a bit confused. Am I missing something?
