Session #6 of our on-going Urban Shadows play-test campaign tonight being MC-ed by Sean Horwich. Things are starting to really ramp up as my Aware continues his search for his missing (and now-vampire) fiance and the forces of Asgard continue to muster in Boston in search for the Harbingers of Ragnarok. What will happen? Who might perish? Will we be able to tell friend from foe before the smoke clears? Can’t wait to find out!

The first draft for the document has been finished.

I need to finish reviewing Hunter and Orpheus, and will take whatever help and feedback you are willing to give.

I will be starting playtest again next Thursday for those interested.

I am sticking with the old damage style that Andrew Medeiros has recently changed.

Once this is done, I will be getting 6×9 books printed through Lulu and sending to all parties that helped (as cash becomes available.)

Big thanks to Aaron Friesen and Tim Franzke for helping keep John Layton and I on course with this book.

Come out and play some Urban Shadows. I’ll be your MC for this night of battling (or being) the monsters that prey on humanity.

Looking for 2-4 players on a first come first serve basis.

The advancement option I gave to each playbook (minus The King of course) indicates that you join a group of some sort, which is essentially membership into, or possibly even leadership of a group of people who have resources you can gain access to.

What do you think of this advancement option? Does it excite you as a player for your protagonist to be able to enlist in a group like this?

Here are the group names I have so far sorted by Archetype.

Aware – Resistance Group

Dragon – Tribe of Wyrms

Expert – Guild

Fae – Faeire Court

Hallowed – Group of Believers

Hunter – Hunting Party

Immortal – Ancient Order

Oracle – Seer’s Circle

Specter – Body of Ghosts

Tainted – Cult

Vamp – Vampire Clan

WIzard – Council of Magi

Wolf – Wolf Pack

The ones I’m luke-warm on are Guild, Cult, and Group of Believers. Got any suggestions? Also, do you like that they have names and an implied direction/membership or would you prefer something open-ended, like “You join a group of ___“?

Urban Shadows this week. Here’s something I sketched after the last session… fun use of the “Practiced Liar” move.

Also, been playing teh Vampire portion of this the last two weeks with   Chris Riexax, John Layton, Jen Stevens, Lasse Wassmann, and Anton Dominic and so far so good. Not much fighting as of yet, but lots of backstabbing.

One more move to go, and hopefully some good feedback on Hunter and Orpheus and this thing will be done.

I will be posting all of the playbooks in trifold and 6×9 formats the second it is done.

Big thanks to Aaron Friesen and Tim Franzke for a lot of work helping with editing and giving move feedback for many of the books.
