Working on some new playbooks and need some help with first which ones sound cool to you and some ideas for moves and core stat choices. Here’s the current list of options I have in my head.

The Immortal – A human who has been gifted/cursed with immortality.

The Wyrm – A dragon, but in human form for one reason for another. I thought the Hoarder would be a good parallel to this.

The King – A crime lord with goons and resources to call upon.

The Specter – A ghost returned to the world to avenge or redeem their death.

The Oracle – A seer who can proclaim the future, but can it be prevented or simply accepted?

The Reader – Pretty straight forward psychic here. Thinking River Tam or Bester!

Ok so I finished the previously mentioned conversion of the playbooks to a legal-sized tri-fold format.

Ok so I finished the previously mentioned conversion of the playbooks to a legal-sized tri-fold format. They look super sweet and Tommy’s pic’s give them an awesome edge. Can’t wait to show these to my playtesters!

The art is care of Tommy Rayburn, I think he did a smashing job! Wouldn’t you agree?

Andrew Medeiros, you mentioned you were terrible at setting up the design, but so far even under my professional opinion I think you do a fine job with the overall layout. None of text is too compact or tight, rather though you may want to give the page a slightly bigger margin for printer use. So, let’s work on the things that do need to be cleaned up.

1. I would go with a simple Garamond or Times Roman … will give it a newspaper feel which I think works really well for this genre. If you want a more modern feel, you could go Gills sans or Verdana.

2. For the headers, look at these:

MC-ed a session of Urban Shadows last night set during 1863 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Had an Aware, an Expert (Chemist), and a Changeling. All in all I have to say the system worked flawlessly in this time period and setting. The group hunted down a pair of murderers who appeared to be possessed by a spirit, encountered a giant creature of some sort who threw them around before fleeing into the underground vaults below Edinburgh and one of them even met Dr Joseph Bell and his scribe assistant Arthur Conan Doyle. 🙂 Really fun session with some great players!
