The recent Art of Wrestling episode with Shane Douglas is full of good stuff. There’s one anecdote I love, about how he won his first title (the UWF TV title). Apparently, it was supposed to be Sting vs. Eddie Gilbert, with Terry Taylor attacking Sting before the match, but Taylor hit Sting too hard with a chair and he couldn’t compete. So they shoved Shane Douglas out there and he expected to put Eddie Gilbert over, but it was called on the fly and Douglas ended up winning the title!

A cool example of how to apply some Creative Moves in WWWRPG, perhaps. Terry Taylor (or Sting) botches a roll, Creative says it means Sting’s too injured to compete and books Shane Douglas into the match, maybe Eddie Gilbert uses a Move to give Douglas the win.

Based on your understanding of the game so far (which I understand can be from “I see you talk about it” to “I’ve been playing the Beta”) what examples would you like to see? What seems difficult or mystifying or unclear?

I’m going to be doing examples throughout, but, y’know, having some specific areas to concentrate on can’t hurt!

This is AMAAAAAAZING. Watch the entire video at the end. Some of ’em are completely priceless.

I haven’t had the chance to do personal responses to the Season One wrestlers y’all have submitted, but there’s some great ones. I mean, they’re all beautiful sunsets, but there’s a couple that hit me just right and make me smile. I’m excited to showcase you monsters!

Hey friends!

Hey friends!

Hey friends! If you backed the Kickstarter at any $40+ level, check your messages. I’m capturing your shirt preferences and Season One info offsite, so I can use the KS survey feature to get everyone’s address closer to when books will ship. I sent out links to everyone in a Kickstarter message.

Thanks to everyone who’s responded so far! I’m aiming to move on shirts in the next couple of weeks, assuming I get the majority of folks info (I will be printing a couple extra of the most popular sizes, but still, trying to fit the printing to what folks actually need).

Thanks!

The interview process makes me sound like a bit of a goof, I think, but it was nice to do!

Hey wrestling fans!

Hey wrestling fans!

Hey wrestling fans! Bret Gillan (designer of the Jobber Gimmick), Ian Williams  (editor, designer of the Hardcore Gimmick) and myself have started a podcast focused on early 90s WCW PPVs. We’re starting with the Dangerous Alliance! This first episode covers Halloween Havoc 1991.

If you have 2 hours to spare to listen to some yammering about wrassles, we’d appreciate some listens and feedback. Thanks!
