Here’s an Apocalypse setting thought bubble:
The entire planet is one gigantic IKEA store. It has overrun every corner of the globe.

I played my first game of The Sundered Land last night, with Stuart McDermid and Joe Sweeney. We played Caravans and it was great. We each had a turn of being the hazard player, which worked really well. We should be playing Night Watch in a fortnight, which I’m really looking forward to.
Two things:
1 – This was the first game I’ve played where the GM responsibilities are shared or passed around. It worked so well and felt so natural, it makes me wonder why I haven’t been doing it for years.
2 – I come from a very trad, nineties type gaming background, where the word NO is a big part of the GMs toolbox. Playing with these guys, I don’t think I’ve heard it used once. I think that’s a big part of why we seem to get so much more DONE in these games. I love it!
ps I still love the trad games I play with my older group, but I’m really glad I get to scratch a different itch now.
I reckon there’s two types of AW players. Those who improve their stats, and those who pick more moves.

In the pbp AW campaign I’m currently playing in, the MC just highlighted everyone’s Weird.

It’s amazing just how much impact a little thing like that can have on play. All of a sudden it’s freaky psychic/ghost gear all the time. All player driven.
Very cool.
Playing Apocalypse World: lessons learned
Playing Apocalypse World: lessons learned
1 – Make your 10+ rolls count.
When you deal with a problem, make sure you do so in such a way as it STAYS dealt with and can’t jump up & be a problem again in 10 minutes. Otherwise you’re just running to stand still all the time.
2- Play to your strengths
If you have Hot -1, you’re not going to be a wheeler dealer, talking your way around problems. It’s just not going to work. Same goes for trying to be a tough guy with Hard -1.
Anyone got anything else?
