PBtA games give GM’s Moves and Fronts (or whatever you call them) that are designed to let you run game sessions that are coherent (things make sense and are genre appropriate) but don’t require a huge amount of preparation.

What PBtA game books explain best how to use the above at the table? Given that I won’t be running heavy PvP games, I don’t think that game would be Apocalypse World.

Does anyone know what happened to “Apocalypse World: Dark Ages”. It looked like a Burning Wheel style Dungeon World.

Hi.

Hi.

Hi. I don’t have a ton of time to prep between games AND I’m not amazing at improvisation AND I’m not super into games that rely mostly on PVP. What PBTA or PBTA games would you recommend for this? The only one I can think of from my limited knowledge is Blades in the Dark, since it’s mostly the heist that players plan in the game so I’m doing improv but it’s very structured improve, then I just update some clocks.

1. Am I right about this:

2. What other PBTA games are like this.

My GMing goal for the year is to get more effective at prep and execution using the “Prep Situations, not Plot”…

My GMing goal for the year is to get more effective at prep and execution using the “Prep Situations, not Plot” approach. Assuming I’m not running a PVP game, what published GM materials have the best advice / processes for implementing this? Is there a specific PBTA or Fate or other game product that you can recommend? I’m less looking for general how to be a good GM advice, and more specifically how to prep situations (e.g., Fronts, Clocks, Motivated Antagonists), and then turn that into a bunch of satisfying scenes across one or more sessions.

What limits are there, if any, on world element / fact creation are there in PbtA games?

What limits are there, if any, on world element / fact creation are there in PbtA games? Is this something that can be toggled, or is it just a crazy free-for-all? Or is that just a fundamental part of the game and if you take it out it’s broken.

For example, in Fate, you can play it without that much player world / fact declaration (the players are limited by having to spend Fate Points to declare stuff, which the table and ultimately the GM can veto).

Are there any good Actual Plays or transcripts or documents that show really good examples of GM’s working moves, particularly the ones that sound very artsy and abstract, into games. Thanks!
