The Great Gimmick Grind

One of my tasks over the next week or so is to really polish up the Gimmicks and make sure they’re poppin’

I’m generally happy, but I’m aiming to review all the Gimmick Moves, see what can be rephrased or adjusted to make it more compelling in play, that they’re “balanced” (for the very loose sense of balance I strive for), take another look at statline distributions, see if theres Heat questions that could use a revision, stuff like that.

To that end, if you have any feedback about Gimmicks You Have Known, this is a good place to let me know!

Latest update has shots of the in-progress cover art. It’s dope!

I know I’m ready to be done with this game because I’ve finally tipped over to the “oh god I’m reading it again” stage of editing.

On the plus side, Ian Williams has done a bangup job tuning up the prose, and I think it’s going to be a pretty solid piece of work.

On the production side, I have yet to hit any serious snags (knock on wood).

In the meantime, any questions from y’all? Or have the Kickstarter updates been covering it pretty well so far?

Working on getting the shirts underway.

Working on getting the shirts underway. Still need about 9 responses from KS backers, tho unless someone who needs a size outside the M-L-XL-XXL spectrum doesn’t speak up I should be able to cover everyone. But, if you pledged for a level that gets you a shirt, check your messages and make sure you filled out the Google form!

It looks like the WWWRPG Logo and I Like Moose Johnson are far and away the favorite shirts, with Keystone in the middle and Big Zeke and Mammoth Marco trailing, but in equal proportion to each other. Interesting! I’m gonna wear my Big Zeke shirt all the damn time.

I’ll be printing a few extras and have them available for sale once the public release happens, see if it’s something folks want into the future.

Already making a list for Season Two shirts, stemming from characters I have known! Prof. Atomo/WRESTLING SCIENCE for sure. I want to make another stab at a Bruto “California Hardcore” shirt, I haven’t figured that one out yet. Maybe a Bash Hammer shirt. Maybe a “The Graveyard” faction shirt. Oh, and Crimson Bat! That would be a good shirt.

Got a great sketch from Eric Quigley for the #WWWRPG  cover.

Got a great sketch from Eric Quigley for the #WWWRPG  cover. Not quite ready to show off, but man, there’s a lot of great action! You can see the effort Eric is putting in to make sure the anatomy and posing is right, while capturing great energy and evocative costumes for the wrestlers. And he hasn’t even touched color yet!

I’m pretty excited for where this is headed.

Episode 4 in the ongoing World Wide Wrestling RPG Exhibition Season.

The teacher of WRESTLING SCIENCE himself, Prof. Atomo seems to be on track to sweep the Journeyman’s Cup Tournament yet again after his masterful dismantling of the high flyer Bolt Bradshaw.

Scythe, formerly Razor, has returned under the power of Reaper – and C. Colton Craig, general manager of World Wide Wrestling, has ruled on a technicality that he was never eliminated from the tournament in the first place.

Will Scythe be able to keep the Graveyard faction in the tournament in Reaper’s continuing absence?

Joey Crak’s unconvincing re-debut underwhelmed the WWWRPG universe. What will he do to make up for it?

What did Blind Man Simon’s visionquest lead him to?

Find out all this AND MORE on tonights exciting episode of the World Wide Wrestling RPG!
