Ok folks, for those following along.

Ok folks, for those following along.

Ok folks, for those following along. I added in two playbooks which brings me up to 8 1/2. I still have yet to flush out the Hallowed so that’s the 1/2. 🙂

I added in an additional +1 stat advance and the “join a group” advancement to the 5+ list. I think that it would be better to have that come about with a few advances first. I’ve seen a character take it with his first advance in Monsterhearts and I found it rather jarring.

So yea, introducing The Hunter playbook. Based on mortal combatants of the supernaturals. Inspired by Sam and Dean Winchester and Buffy Summers. Me likey!

and The Tainted, a half-human/half-demon with all sorts of demonic and contractual based moves. Inspired by Dante from the Devil May Cry video games.

Feedback will be greatly appreciated.

  1. All right, let’s see what we’ve got here… I’m (maybe) a little confused about the Wizard’s spell casting; is it a separate roll for each spell, which on a success gives three hold for that spell? Also the Changeling debt section is duplicated over itself. I’ll come back with more as I go further in the document. Do you want any proofreading things at this point, or just game questions?

  2. I’m ok with proof-reading, it’s never too early to correct subject.

The wizard gains hold and spends hold to cast a spell they know on a 1-for-1 basis. So for example if a Wizard has 3-hold, they can cast elementalism twice and veil once. I may need to re-consider how this is worded. 🙂

You’re right about the Changeling, thanks for catching that. Emisarry is outdated because I changed the way Faerie magic works. I will correct this asap.

  3. I’m mostly going with my gut here, but I believe the correct conjugation in this instance (you and another character) would be “have sex” instead of “has sex”. Anybody not currently on a Nook in a bathtub (too much information?) want to check that for me?

  4. Yeah, the Wizard confused me because that’s how I originally pictured it: rolling at the beginning of a session or whatever, then using the hold to cast spells, but most of the items on the list seemed like direct results of the spells, aka using the hold, not after the roll.

  5. It seems better, maybe with a bit more text (outside of the playbook) explaining what the Spellcasting roll consists of in the fiction it would make even more sense. I was surprised that I didn’t see a ritual move in my quick read-through, what with it being such an important part of the source. I expected something like the AW workshop rules.
