Is there a reason why a menace doesn’t have a countdown clock or a grim portents? Could those be added without breaking something?

Help me out: I forget which hack Menaces are from.
Menaces are from Monsterhearts 🙂
Oh right, cool.
Good question, but I don’t have an answer for it. Could probably be authored in really easy — don’t see why not.
Monsterhearts
I think the Grim Potent is kind of there, the book at least talks about imagining them.
Menaces are to my knowledge not something that is supposed to be used like a Front. They are more extra stuff to say instead of a “emerging plot”.
They are only used like stolen cars. Introduce them, use them, fuck over the PCs and then forget them for a while. until you need them again.
Okay, I see… hm… I like fronts better than menaces. But maybe I just have to see how a game of Monsterhearts unfolds further…
Menaces are threats of the Front. You create a front and then populate it with Menaces.
Throw a clock on anything, man. Just use it to track things. Vincent even mentions it in the book. Don’t feel like there’s a right and wrong way to play your game, it’s yours.
Menace is the name of fronts in Monsterhearts. Threats are still called threats.
Right right. My apologies.
