I either give them a busy signal or massive feedback, almost portray the Abyss as angry at their intrusion.
The Chosen held a painting of a cave made by “the weird kid” and Gazed into the Abyss to find out what the kid knew about the strange shadow monsters that lived there. He failed his roll, and the monsters came for him instead.
The Angel gazed into the abyss, trying to find out where the Fae that knocked her out and tied her up had run off to. She failed her roll, and the abyss showed her the worse possible (but true) thing–the fae having sex with the angel’s boyfriend just a few minutes ago.
