  1. PDFs are handy. I think AW is enough of an indie darling to warrant a HC so I can pass it down to my grandkids and tell them to barf forth apocolyptica.

  2. I remember reading Vincent was working on some mech rules etc. Things like that and maybe some other extras from the likes of Joe Mcdaldno would make for cool stretch goals.

  3. Markus Wagner everyone knows that paperbacks have all been repurposed for med kit use and kindling. Only the most important of hardcover tomes have survived the apocalypse! 😉

  4. Language tweak:

Vincent Baker should do whatever his little heart desires.

You’d be overjoyed if that happened to involve an AW hardcover. I’d be overjoyed if that involved pushing the boundaries of design with new game ideas, rather than spending more time putting existing designs in fancier packages.

But, yeah, if there was an AW hardcover I’d drop some hard cash on it.

  5. Good call Joe Mcdaldno browsing around Kickstarter always gets me thinking about cool versions if the games I love. I am using the extra advertisement card from my the quite year deck as a bookmark in my AW book which reminded me of your game design badassery.

  6. You mean like the Italian one?

Oh, wait that also has your own photos worked in the internal art…

Yes, I’m trolling, don’t mind my little moment off evil gloating, please…

  7. My copy is pretty worn these days, but the binding is still holding together rather well. I’ve thought about getting some craft materials and rebinding it library-style on my own, though.

  8. I’ve never encountered a POD storefront where you could “just” put up a book in a new format like it was no big deal.

You’ll invariably need to spend time toggling the cover (differing spine thickness, margin/bleed specifications), and potentially need to tweak the whole layout because your book size isn’t offered, and have to go through setting up an account with them, and have to order a proof and probably make changes to accomodate new printing apparati. You might find out that the new printer can’t handle transparencies or overprints dark tones. Your profit margins will be different, and you’ll need to figure out new price points. If you have lots of retailer relationships, you’ll need to figure out what you’re going to tell them (offering a deluxe POD option? kind of shafts your retail partners).

New print formats? They’re a lot of work. Even the POD ones.

  9. My spine is wrecked too, with pages falling out every other time I open it.  But I’m just sticking the fuckers back into the book with packing tape.  This is the apocalypse, baby!
