On the topic of Playbooks for characters from other media, it occurred to me that Archer (from the cartoon) is a good example of a Gun Lugger and Doctor Krieger is a great Savvy Head.

  1. I think that you could use the stats unmodified, and many of the Playbooks, for a modern spy game. Hardholder / holds would need to be tweaked to be agencies / organizations, but otherwise surprisingly little needs to be changed. Especially if you don’t mind a weird and wild feel, like Archer has.

And, yes, renaming of basic moves is key.

“When you’re in the Danger Zone

“When you need total situational awareness

  2. I was thinking that, but I don’t think he’s that Cool. I think he has a Move (and I think there is one in the Playbook) to use Hard instead of Cool for Acting Under Fire–possibly only in battle. Mostly he’s Hard and Hot*, with a Hard sub in for Sharp for reading battle situations.

Like, he would be shit at Moonlighting. Whereas, I think Mallory may well be an Operator with Isis as her crew / gang.

    *PHRASING!
