In my experience (which is by no means exhaustive), fronts work best when the two are one and the same. When the threat to the Status Quo /IS/ a threat to the things the player’s characters hold dear, that’s when it’s a front. If it’s just a threat to the PCs, I leave it in the home front. And really, everything is a threat to the status quo from my side of the screen.
I read this as “do fonts . . .” I was going to say yes, pay particularly close attention to characters who use comic sans.
Given that “there is no status quo in the apocalypse world”, I’d go for “to the characters (and to any kind of status quo they’re trying to achieve)”
