  1. Special dice with an Elder Sign in place of the 6.  In tremulus you get a point of Lore (used to power special moves) when you roll double 6’s.

  2. I don’t know of any detailed reviews, but I’m supposed to be writing a short review for the next issue of The Unspeakable Oath magazine.

  3. I’m sure it will eventually be available to order but this round is the Kickstarter shipments.

Sean Preston should be able to shed better light on your question.

  4.  Richard Extall ,  imo it’s not a really good hack of AW.

Main issue : characters’ moves are boring (lot of switch and bonus – few moves drive fiction ahead). The Lore attribut is hmmm… disturbing.

Sorry, I can’t explain more in english.

  5. Vehemently disagree with Seb R on his assessment of tremulus. I think it may be the best hack since Dungeon World. The playset rules are brilliant, the playbooks are great, and the subtle tweaks to accomodate the horror genre are welcome and make the game play VERY differently than other hacks, but still retaining the “feel” of AW/DW.

Pick it up as soon as it is commercially available. It will be worth every penny.

  6. Regardless of the comments here, some good, some not so good, I will still gamble on a copy when commercially available. Anything Lovecraft related and I’m in, so long as it is to a certain standard, which I think this promises to be.

  7. I’ve got the game. The playbook side is as Seb R suggests and the moves are to me, written by someone who really doesn’t get how World games work.

The way moves speak to the fiction is weird too and the hard move rules just don’t work as well as they do in every other AW hack there is . (I just ignore this last bit)

The Keeper side tools are actually ok. We play the game in the way we are accustomed from AW/DW/MH etc and it works just fine. The playbooks are a little mechanical and therefore bland although HPL characters are much the same so it sort of feels right.

  8. AW is quite difficult to grasp, and it took me a few reads to actually get on the right wavelength as to how its meant to play out. Its also written in a disjointed way, which doesn’t help. All that said, I do really like it.

  9. I suppose negative critique come from people who already know AW, DW or MotW.

tremulus is a functional game and there is good stuff inside, (keeper advices seem good as i remember, and i like insanity rules also)  but as a CoC keeper it doesn’t give me enthousiasm to run a game with it.

Maybe i wait too much for it.

I’m reading MotW and I feel more confortable to use it for a horror game – with some tweaks of course.

  10. Still hoping to get my hands on this. Any news on a release date? I’ve run and played a bunch of apocalypse-powered games and would love to give Tremulus a spin or twelve.
