NPC misinterpretation of the deal, and rage/jealousy at same.
Ask the PC who blew his roll what he’s vulnerable to (mentally/emotionally).. the other PC has now figured that out.
Announce future/off screen badness! While they play games the world moves on/falls apart around them.
Sometimes I take away Hx between them.
Sometimes I give the would-be victim +1forward against the manipulator and/or Xp to go against him.
