So, Dungeon World has Fronts, MotW has Arcs, and Apoc World has the Map of Suffering (or something like that). Is there something along those lines for Urban Shadows, whether already existing or just in the works?

Just do Fronts like in all the games. Advice on what to look for in the first session would be much more helpful to me.

An MC section , including rules for Threats, will be available with the core book when released. It will be a cross between AW Fronts and Monsterhearts’ Menaces.

Right! I forgot, the map thing stuck out to me more.
First Session stuff is easy. Ask questions like crazy and make them all loaded. So you’re werewolf boyfriend, why do you stay with him despite his violent nature? You owe Marcus the vampire several favours, what sorts of things have you done for him recently? Claire the metalurgist wizard has been looking for you and you know it, why don’t you just face her head on?
This will quickly stock you with some important and cool NPC’s to bring to bear on the players right away. That’s how I do it at least.
