Don’t know if this is the right place, but it’s good to start. I’m a large fan of Apocalypse World and I’ve ran 3 games of it already and Monsterhearts. I even created a GMless variant. I’m moving to the north edge of Los Angeles County in an area called Agoura Hills.
I’m looking for a new gaming group for AW and it’s hacks. Also, I want to meet new RPG friends and gamers in general. I’m also looking for gamers who maybe have families? We have a 2 year old daughter so we are looking for gamers who understand the possible sporadicness of games. Are such gamers interested in meeting, or do people know of gamers in this category that want to make new friends. My wife and I want to start up a new game when we move at the end of this month.
I’m not in the area, but I am interested in this GM-less variant.
Same as Tim. I’m rather far away, but I’m also working on GM-less (or GM-ful, whatever the difference is) Apocalypse Engine game. I’d be interested in comparing notes :)
I feel your pain. I’ve got kids the same age and gaming is hard to schedule. What worked for us was: We’ll host gaming if you put up with occasional disturbances from kids. We not-so-secretly wish we knew other gamers with kids our age. (Unfortunately, we moved away from LA)
Thank you Marshall. I’m totally willing to host games. DO you know people in the LA area still? Also Tim Groth Eric Nieudan I’ve posted and replied in here before abotu apocalypse GMless games. It’s real easy and works really well. Would you like me to make a post about it? This forum I want more abut finding new gamer friends.
I’ll read anything about GM-less AW. If you have a link to an old post, no needed to write a new one.
Good luck finding friends! I can only help with that if you visit Ireland 😉

Eric Nieudan see my responses for GMless AW. It’s really fun. https://plus.google.com/101099509021238143933/posts/4X7qdECELvB
Paging Judson Lester and Josh Roby
Thanks mischa
I’m moving to San Diego in Sept, but that’s not close enough for regular stuff. See you at Strategicon, though!
J. Walton SD is one of my favorite conference destinations.
J. Walton
Yeah I’m looking for North Los Angeles/Ventura County people. Although I know a lot of San Diego gamers. My wife and I founded the UCSD RPG club a while back, and we still have some great connections if you are looking for people.
Keenan Kibrick I will definitely take you up on that. I’m really hoping I can support what’s already happening and not have to found a completely new organization (been there, done that).
Keenan Kibrick Thanks, it’s really useful!
Hey Keenan – Josh hosts a regular(ish) weekly thing – the “charter” is playtest, but as kids have increasingly come into the picture it’s more been trying out new games kind of a thing. We’re just getting a Sagas of the Icelanders thing going, for instance.
There’s a pretty big RP community in the LA area, so even if we’re not your ideal match, we can point you in the right direction. Get in touch when you arrive.
Oh, and welcome to LA!
I’ve lived in La for a while right now though we ate west la so we are hoping to fi and people closer to agoura and with children. Glad to meet someone new!
Awesome Judson LesterAlso your group sound exactly what we are looking for if you can handle my wife and I sometimes. I have a bunch of games I’ve wanted to try as well. I also love to GM if you would be cool with that sometime s
I’m in the long beach area and run DW and AW as often as possible. No kids but married. I’m part of The Long Beach Geeks on meetup.com. Join and come on down at some point!
We are looking for local people I know a ton in Long Beach but that’s a little to far for bi monthly games and things
