Okay, here’s my first pass at an original character for my Brine Bay setting. His name is Newton and he’s a member of a squad of scientists.

  1. Looks good to me, I dig it! I’m not actually sure what moving something through a gravitational field means though, but that could because I just woke up. Do you mean controlling gravity in a certain area to min/max its effects?

  2. Ah makes sense! I think it’d be cool to create bubble in which you could mess with gravity though, eh? Max it out so they would pressed to the ground and couldn’t move, or use it fly around like Magneto, etc. Anyway, cool stuff!

  3. So, you’re saying I played it too safe?

Also, in play, could I simply say that since i could move stuff that I could hold them to the ground or make myself fly? Or if I’m not that specific in the power profile does that mean I can’t do it without the Push move?

  4. Yeah if it’s not defined in the profile then you’d have to Push yourself as you’d be doing it for the first time, or haven’t gotten the hang of it yet. It’s not a matter of playing it safe or anything, just thought it’d be cool. It’s more a matter of how you see your character – what they can do starting out and how they act 🙂

  5. And correct me if I’m wrong, but you can only define one specific effect per “level” in the power profile unless you sacrifice initial Bonds.

Speaking of Bonds, can you initially define a level 0 bond? Or do all of them need to be at least 1?

  6. Yep, the more limitations the more Bonds you get (and the more things you can define in your powers profile too). You can define a 0 level Bond if you want. If it’s undefined it’s usually assumed they are unaware of you or don’t care. If you have something in mind for character creation though, totallly!
