Moon Kitty
Moon Kitty is a red&white cat with the sign of the Moon on her forehead. She isn’t a regular cat though, she comes from the feline protected town of Ulthar and found her way to earth by accident. Still, as part of the feline guard it is her duty to protect those that are to weak to protect herself and she strolls the city as Moon Kitty a name she could care less for.
Codename – Moon Kitty
Former Codename and Aliases – Anadazar the blessed
Real Name – Anadazar Di Ulthar
Greatest Foe – every Origin book also has suggestions for a foe and enemy.
Current Costume – none, she is a cat but wears a mystical collar.
Summary of Power: Guardian of Ulthar basic power set, coming from the Guard Collar: moon energy blasts, shapechanging and the power to teleport to where she is needed.
Verbs
Smash: +2
Influence: -1
Maneuver: +1
Protect: +1
Investigate: 0
Simple: fire a moon energy blast at those that are evil at heart
Difficult: transform into a tiger like battleform, teleport small distances to dodge attacks
Borderline: teleport to where someone is crying for her help
Impossible: transform into non felines
Lost: weave moon based magic
Limitations:
My character requires her collar to use her power, otherwise she is basically a talking, clever, cat.
The moonblasts are limited and need to be recharged through bathing in moonlight. Usually enough for a day or moonless night.
The moonblasts only cat hurt those that are evil at heart.
Origin Book: My Alien Heritage
Drive Book: Adapt to a changing world (in that case not past related but different world related)
The teleporting to dodge attacks probably doesn’t need to be in difficult since it’d probably be something you narrate as you Defy Danger or something. No harm in having it there to show that it’s difficult though! Good stuff
But if it isn’t there i would need to push myself to do it. Way harder. This way i can at least Defy Danger.
From what i understand.
Yeah, I just mean you should probably only have 1 thing for difficult right? Unless you forgot to put an extra thing for simple as well?
Well i have 3 limitations. So i get 1 extra simple and 1 extra difficult right? Its how i understood the table.
So you should have another simple as well~
So the things you get are additive?
Yeah, the table tells you what you get above and beyond the already 1 per category.
So i have 3 bonds. i get 1 extra simple and 1 extra difficult.
+ the 1 simple from 1 extra bond?
From 1 limitation you get 1 extra simple. You have 3 limitations so you 1 extra simple and 1 extra difficult. So in total you should have 2 simple and 2 difficult, 1 possible and 1 impossible (and 1 lost if you want, like you have).
aaahhh. Now i see it. I forgot to put the second simple in… So i will move the teleport to simple. Need another difficult then.
Shouldn’t the mystical collar be an Advantage?
If it can be taken away from her, and any of her powers stem from it, then yes. Good catch.
So can i take this as a limitation or not?
Because its basically the same thing as Hawkeyes Bow (although harder to remove) or the Green Lantern Ring.
I am confused.
It’s up to you, of course. If you take it as a limitation you get certain benefits at the cost of it being able to be taken away or messed with in some way.
If you don’t take it as a limitation then it’s always there and can’t be messed with, but then it’s not a limitation and so you don’t get the benefits of taking a limitation.
But it is there in the fiction, of course it can be taken away and messed with.
If you take it as a limitation you’re telling the EiC to mess with it. In effect.
great
Tim Franzke, please pardon this complete aside, but as a cat inspired hero, I would definitely put a -1 in Investigate and play up the aspect of ‘curiosity killed the cat.’
