Kicking off a 3 part campaign in about 4 hours. Any last minute pointers or tips? Things I need to keep in mind? I’ve run *World games before but am looking for what specific about this system that will make it run beautifully.

  1. When your players don’t know where to go, remind them that they have debts to call in on the other players.

Encourage players to use the Faction moves too. Not only does it build out the city, but it also frames a lot scenes.

  2. If players don’t know what to do/where to go, how do debts help them? They are great when you want other people to do something for you. If you don’t know what you want to get donethat doesn’t really help right?

  3. Tim Franzke – In my experience, players almost always know what they want to do, but sometimes don’t know where to go in a big city. The Debts help keep them focused on the relationships that are likely to be helpful.

  4. Might be a little too late to get you advice for the first session, but for future games: Remember to envision the various groups and allegiances in your mind.

The Vampires and the Fae may have an non-aggression treaty but the Mages Council doesn’t have to respect that.

The factions all have relationships with each other and what the protagonists do will almost always affect that web. Let their choices have cool consequences that change the face of the city a little bit, for good or ill. 🙂
