So, I was wondering about one of the options for Escape, specifically the option where you mark Corruption, specifically I was wondering what this option is supposed to represent fiction-wise. Is it that you have this moment of shame over your cowardice? Does anyone have any examples from games they were in where someone chose this option?

  1. Corruption is really specific to the playbook. It’s supposed to represent the slide to the darkness… but that looks different for everyone. For a character like a Vampire, I might have them use some Vampiric power (super speed) that costs them a piece of their Humanity; I might have an oracle foresee the moment they can exit, tapping into darkness to make it happen.

Either way, I’m looking to represent that they are choosing to become less human to get the job done.

Mortality characters can usually just mark this by devaluing human life. Knocking people into traffic, exposing others to harm, or just generally breaking things without regard for who gets hurt.
