In the future, if you were able to gather writers/resources, do you see yourselves making/releasing more city guides?

In the future, if you were able to gather writers/resources, do you see yourselves making/releasing more city guides? They sound really cool from what I’ve read about them, and I can think of some cities I’d really love to see a game take place (Buenos Aires, Paris, Reykjavik, Johannesburg, Mexico City).

  1. Absolutely! We’re looking at both hiring more writers and making some of the IP associated with Urban Shadows open source. I’m not sure we’ll go full CC like Dungeon World, but we’d love to find ways for fans to make their own guides.

  2. I would like to see some smaller cities covered as well. Think Juneau, Alaska; Madison, Wisconsin; Detroit, Michigan; or Savannah, Georgia.

Mark Diaz Truman why not full CC? It hasn’t hurt DW’s success.

  3. It’d also be cool to see some spread-out domains, like Steve Wallace’s Ozarks idea, or the Antilles. Yeah, I think I’d really love to see a game set in the Caribbean….

  4. Tim Jensen – It hasn’t hurt the success, but it definitely affects the quality of the work. There have been a bunch of awesome DW products, but there’s a lot that’s not up the quality of the original. It’s something we’re thinking about!
