John Layton and I just finished all of our existing books for our WoD add-on to Urban Shadows.

This includes: Vampire the Masquerade,  Mage the Awakening,  Werewolf the Forsaken, Hunter the Vigil, Orpheus and Slasher.

There are plans to add Changeling and Demon at some point …. but we have no time frame.

The only thing I am not 100% sure with is the XP system I have put in. I went with one similar to one of the variations of Dark Ages, but it may be to many things to track.

I also may make a few visual/layout tweaks (fonts and such) after US is released, to slightly match in style.

  1. We have ran more than a 100 playtest for the various books, with John and I doing complete rewrites over and over thanks to some great feedback given. We know it isn’t perfect by any means, but the game plays relatively balanced and quite smoothly.

  2. I wonder if there will be a print version of it?

Or will there be future (major) changes)?

Otherwise I’ll consider printing it myself (well via a “print my PDF” service).

  3. Jennifer Fuss, The Second I get a hold of the layout for Urban Shadows so I can match fonts and maybe some visual stylings ….. i will set it up for printing on Lulu.

  4. I really really like what you’ve done, but there still thing I’m not entirely clear on (perhaps due to english not beeing my native language):

The one that is troubling me the most at the moment is on the Horrid Reality move for the Chimerstry Discipline, why would the success roll would let you do more than the “semi-success” ?

  5. No love for Sin-Eaters, alas. 🙁

Looks awesome, though! One of my RL group members has been asking about firing up World of Darkness again; I wonder if this might be a good place to meet in the middle.

  6. James Etheridge It isn’t that I don’t feel love for the Sin-Eaters. It’s that the whole project is like a puzzle with pieces from both World of Darkness and Urban Shadows, with US being the part of the puzzle already completed. When we get ready to write a new section of the add-on, we have to look at the available playbooks and find something in WoD that might fit. For Spectre, we looked at wraiths, sin-eaters, and Orpheus. Maybe if a Sin-eater-esque playbook is released or if we finish everything on our list, I might see what I can do. As it stands, I’ve got plenty of ideas already so there’s a bit of a list.

  7. James Etheridge …. +the group John Layton and I play in (I run) love this system. It was the perfect balance of WoD with enough space to create the fiction and story you want.

Also, as John Layton mentioned this is a puzzle, fitting the right WoD books with the right Archetypes from Urban Shadows.

I really do hope you enjoy it.
