I ran a blues inspired scenario twice at #Dreamation  last week and since folks were clamoring for more, I’m looking to build it out a bit. As such, I’m looking for some feedback on a custom move:

When you lose something precious to you and it is your own damn fault, roll + cool. On 10+, Choose 3. 7-9, Choose 1.

– You don’t take -1 Ongoing until you give it up for good

– Something else comes your way

– You’ll get it back some day

– Gain 1 Luck

Related question: would there be precedent for Dungeon World-style compendium classes for Monster of the Week?

  1. I think the precedent is Dungeon World-style compendium classes….

I’m considering a hack where one can apply a MoW role to a DW character as a compendium class (because I have a DW game that I want to run as a fantasy MoW cmapaign).

  2. How is it decided if it’s your own damn fault? Is that something that would be obvious in play?

Side note: I find your fictional options way more alluring than the mechanical ones. What about “It doesn’t come back to bite you in the ass.”

  3. Stephanie Bryant  and Keith Stetson , thanks for the feedback. I fully agree about the fictional options as I find that they actively drive play. But it’s the blues; of course it is going to come back to bite you in the ass. Regardless it is added to the brainstorming pile.
