So I had an idea for a segment for the next episode where two players get to compete on Not-Weakest-Link and I’m creating custom moves. The idea I had was that you’d roll +Real when answering as the person, +Look when answering as your character, and +Heat when insulting another competitor. I figure that I’d have it be a countdown situation like in King of the Hill with only 5 counts as a training video for the King of the Hill I plan to have to close the episode.

Here’s my prototype.

At the start of the Quiz Show, a timer is set to 5.

When you answer a question as the real person instead of the character; Roll +Real. If you are answering a question as your character instead roll +Look

10+ Pick 1

-Gain 2 points and pass control

-Maintain Control

7-9; Creative lowers the time count by 1. Pick 1

-Gain 1 point and pass control

-Maintain Control

Botch: You answered the question incorrectly and have been eliminated.

When you crack a joke at a wrestler’s expense; Roll +Work

10+; Gain +1 Heat with the target of your joke and you maintain control. Control must be passed before you can crack another joke.

7-9; Pick 1,

-Gain +1 Heat with the target of your joke and you get eliminated for not answering a question (Maybe you were too busy laughing)

-Give someone +1 Heat with you and pass control.

Botch: The joke went a bit too far and someone isn’t happy about it.

At the end of the show, when the count is at 0 or all other PWs are eliminated, anyone remaining gains +1 Momentum. The Winner gains +2 Momentum or +1 Audience.

  1. I did mention it was a prototype. I wrote this up in between tasks at work and want to fine tune it.

Edit: Mostly, this is my first *world game so I’m not sure about the basis for a well designed move.
