I’m letting the players choose their Drive books and Bonds, so the characters don’t have those. The bond threshold is also assuming 5 players.

Comments are appreciated. This is my first shot and I want to make sure I did it right.

  1. Lots of cool, creative options and great artwork to go along with them! Some might be more fun to play than others in a one-shot (though it’d depend on the scenario you run from the get-go, I usually start with something big and a lot of action, then do a round of downtime, then, if there’s time, more action or end on an ominous note).

I’m mostly thinking of Sprockette since her thing is mostly creating machines maybe you’d want to make sure the player knew they always carried around a bunch of spare parts to repurpose at any given moment, and maybe a couple things she’s put together, but hasn’t used yet (put the player in danger, then tell them you’ve probably got just the gadget for this, right? It’s untested, but tell me what it is (and then let them Push for it). I could see that being fun, but starting players may not know what to do with her from the get-go.

I think the rest all have enough options to have fun with, you could even have some specific challenges prepped for each hero if you have the time to spotlight their powers.

In any case, great work 🙂

  2. Personally, I only prepare one character for each seat – usually 4-5 max for a one-shot. A big advantage to having pre-gens is knowing their powers, and so being able to prep specific stuff for them to try to do with them and challenges to give everyone spotlight time to make them feel cool. With more pre-gens you can’t prep as much, but it mostly just comes down to how you run a game and how much prep you usually do and factor in.

  3. I always create more than I need, because I personally like having more options when I show up to a con game. Normally I wouldn’t do this many, but I was trying to be inclusive and include and equal number of male and female characters in addition to a variety of ethnicities.

Aside from the villains and the Arch Villain’s master plan, I don’t have a whole lot prepped in advance.
