Here’s the second of my attempts at an open-ended magic system: The Alchemist makes sacrifices to transfer the qualities of a host onto a new subject.

Inspired by Mage the Ascension and Full Metal Alchemist.

Also see my other thread for The Mage. What would you add or change?

  1. Never played it but read through it. It looks like a good translation of awakening from what I can tell. Was there an open ended part of it that I missed? How well do you think this and the other archetype I posted would work?

  2. There may be some overlap in moves. For my entire design, it was about direct translations. There are some moves that change or get balanced (front part of the book), so using Mage for me is forcing you to use either Wizard or take at least Channeling from Wizard to gain the ability to gain Spell Hold.

  3. To your question though, they are different …. just a few similar moves. If you can gain spell points in some balanced fashion, I could pull from your book as well.
