Hello folks, I just recently had my first taste of the Sagas as the Master of Ceremonies. I’m not a very experienced GM so I did ran into some troubles, especially when one of my players wanted to play the Godi and chose the Rites move… How would a Player use their Bonds with Gods and how would You spend The Bonds Gods have with a player?

  1. It’s a common question and it’s not sufficiently explained in the book, but yeah – just like with a NPC. For the gođi the gods are real and he can treat them as NPCs meddling with everyone’s lives.

  2. Oh, I should have also clarified how the gods and fates spend their bonds: the intention was that they can aid or interfere (or rather assist or hinder) and spend bonds to give you +1 or -1 according to their plans, natures, desires and the immutable destiny of the world.

  3. Gregor Vuga, in our game we also used the bonds of the gods towards mortals to look into their heart. Therefore, if Hel wanted to know what she had to do to push Vigdis to kill Vali, I would have spent a bond and asked her (we sometimes used dreams with this purpose). Is it legit, too?
