  1. Oh hi!

The body copy in the book was Museo Sans (300 for regular, 900 for bold), available via Typekit. Unfortunately, there’s no italics for that particular typeface, so we wound up skewing it to about 12 degrees.

Headers are DIN Bold, with a vertical adjustment of 115% to more closely match the type used for chapter openers, book title, and playbook titles, which was not an actual typeface. Those were letterforms that were based on DIN and manipulated in Illustrator. If you have access to Illustrator, type out what you want, convert to outlines and release compound shapes to get “close enough”.

Example text is Tinos Italic with a really tight tracking (-20) (ie, the spacing between the letters was squished a bit). Tinos is also available on Typekit, but I had a local copy I’ve had from I don’t know where.

Checkboxes in moves came from Wingdings or Wingdings Three Hundred. (Not sure where.)

  2. Thank you very much!

I see those are non-free fonts, so some OFL lookalikes will have to be enough. It’s just a fan-made playbook, so I guess it’s OK. 😉

I don’t have Illustrator (I’m not a designer, at least not enough to want pay for fonts and designer software), but Inkscape works very well for me.

BTW I really like your book design. It looks cool, fits the game mood and at the same time it’s very clear and legible (unlike some other modern occult games with B&W pictures 😉 ). The illustrations are also very nice and inspiring. Great job!
