Where were you ?
When you take off your mask and must face the obligations of your secret identity, roll +Mundane. On a 10+: you pass for the teen you should be. On a 7-9: pick 1:
-You raise suspicion and an eye will be kept on you in a near future
-You must make some efforts now if you don’t want to loose someone or something
-You need to make a fool of yourself, losing Influence on a witness or someone involved
On a 6-: they don’t believe you and jump to the worst conclusion

-You must reject the influence of someone who’s holding you accountable (not sure that’s the right translation/phrasing)

This feels like it’s kinda stealing the Janus’s schtick.
And yet even the Janus doesn’t cover this with its moves. And I think it’s normal because from 4 to 8 playbooks will have a secret identity, so Janus should’nt be the one exclusively having to deal with its normal life. And it shouldn’t concern a transformed, an outsider, a robot guy, etc… So custom move seems the best
It depends on the focus you wan’t to have on normal life and its consequences. Our last session was 80% social with or without mask and 20% fight for example (with a Skins serie’s feeling), and it was not at all planned like this
Another option for 7-9 could be “you make a pathetic excuse and your parent/girlfriend/teacher thinks less of you”
It’s like the opposite of raising suspicion, or you avoid suspicion by making people think you’re lame, or a coward, or something. Kind of like Clark Kent in some Superman cartoons. He’s always running off with stomach flu or some lame thing when Superman’s needed.
And if you fail?
Oh sorry, I forgot to translate it. On a 6-: they don’t believe you and jump to the worst conclusion 🙂
Chris Woods What about something like “you need to make a fool of yourself, losing Influence on a witness or someone involved” ? Just to keep an real impact and consequences for this choice.
Looks good to me. Would you mind if I wrote a similar move, but more specific? I don’t want to change yours but I thought it worked differently at first glance. I’d like to give it a shot myself.
No problem at all. It was just a first draft and your move has to tell what you want to see in your fiction 🙂
I think I will try it this way, staying with 3 options, including yours, and without rejecting influence, which would certainly be a consequence of a 6-

Here’s what I came up with, but I can’t think of a good failure.
When you lie to cover up your superhero activities, roll +Mundane.
On a 10+ they accept the lie and you’re in the clear.
On a 7-9 choose 1:
-They accept the lie, but it was embarrassing or demeaning in some way. Mark a condition.
-They realize you’re lying, and call you out on it. They try to tell you who you should be.
-They suspect the lie, but don’t push the issue now. They will be more vigilant in the future.
On a Miss: They know you’re lying, and it’s very hurtful, obvious, and suspicious. (something to do with Influence?)
