  1. Well… why not? It’s a good start, I think.

I can remember a “.” with a space before it (in a list). Also, a “o” in place of a “0”, in the weapon section, if I correctly remember.

Also, in the random tables, the “suffix” “prefix” titles are inverted.

    What did you find?

  2. p109 under Wealth. Making is misspelled. p 110, starting is misspelled as ‘starring.’ Also p110, “High class assets” high class should be hyphenated, like low class later in the sentence.

  3. Pg. 6 – Looks like there’s a comma missing between Farscape and Firefly.

Pg. 18 – The last sentence under “Clumsy” should read “Characters Face Adversity…” not “Character Face Adversity….”

Pg. 134 – “Faction rise and fall…” should be “Factions rise and fall…”

  4. Pg. 90: the caption SCOUNDREL at the top of the page is significantly larger than the captions on the pages of the other career paths.

Pg. 97-106: all of the origins have the line “Skills: Choose 1 of these skills if you’ve had an Advanced origin.”. I’m assuming those should each name the origin that’s on the page they are on.

  5. Oh bugger that’s embarrassing. Hahaha. Well spotted.

My poor editor is going to eviscerate me: I added a couple of last-minute things and couldn’t afford resubmitting for another pass.

  6. hi Sean Gomes , thanks so much for making this game!  Can’t wait for my hardcover.

I’m just kind of wired to notice errors in print, so here’s what I can remember noticing (all page numbers are PDF pages, not printed pages, to make this easier to type up:)

First couple pages had a few errors, so I went back and found them:

p8: “go toe-to-toe [with] corrupt empires”

    p8: “Monste[r]hearts”

p9: “premade character they wish to play[.,]

The biggest error I noticed is that every Origin page contains this text after the “Skills:” heading:  “Choose 1 of these skills if you’ve had an Advanced origin”.   Presumably you meant to replace “Advanced” on each page with the appropriate Origin.

There were a number of other small typos related to words that should’ve been pluralized and that kind of thing.  If you have the chance to do a final edit before the hardcopies are printed, you may want to have a few friends read it again. Preferably people who’ve never read it before.

  7. Absolutely. This is like a free proofreading service 😀

And we are your backers, Sean. So, it’s a win-win situation. We get the PDF, you get the corrections before the 1st print.

  8. Hi Mike Schmitz You caught me just as I was about to submit to print! I’ll certainly delay to fix those typos. Though, the Origins issue was already resolved a few days ago, I even updated the PDF if you want to re-download it.

Thanks so much everyone. As embarassing as it is to have people point out spelling mistakes, I really do appreciate it. 400+ eyes on this thing catches so many more minor typos than just 3 or 4.

Also, note to self, budget for multiple editing passes in future projects. With 3 books (UW, Carta and Far Beyond Humanity) I had a limited editing/proofing budget (not to mention limited art budget, thank goodness Juan Ochoa is both very talented and affordable). Yay first time publishing. -_-
