  1. So! The older version of the rules did indeed have a whole bunch of tags. However, as I playtested them, the tags became something of a hindrance to the pace and narrative opportunities.

    The four weapon types (along with fighter ships) play a sort of rock-paper-scissors game. As Alfred Rudzki said, the tags are baked into the descriptions, but not explicitly called out.

    Ultimately, the weapons don’t have tags: they are tags. They are additional capabilities that the Ship has, the same way a pistol has upgrades that let it pierce armor or shoot plasma.

  2. Ok.  I guess it feels a little weird to me that the weapons of smaller vehicles use the more in-depth tag system while the larger ships are less detailed.  But I can see the desire for a somewhat simple RPS style for ship battles.
