I’m running a one-shot tonight with some people who’ve already done one with the included pregen characters. Does anyone have any pregens they could share here so I could quickly expand the roster?

Normally I’d do it myself but I’ve been insanely busy lately. I’m working hard to avoid canceling the session, but I don’t have any prep time available.

thanks!

  1. Sean Gomes well if I go tonight with the same pregens I’ll tell them that the game’s creator said he would’ve made more for us but I didn’t ask in time!  That’ll buy me some good will.  =)

  2. If you can print out blank sheets and want to fill them in, I can rattle off a few new one-shot characters.

  5. Sean Gomes Great, I love it!  Pasting into a new PDF right now.

Remind me:   was there an online character builder/PDF generator as a goal in the kickstarter?  Did we get there?  A tool to build nice PDFs by picking careers/origins would be awesome.  Mine lack the cool symbology and require a lot of searching/cutting/pasting to get the Skills in.

  6. Sean Gomes first, sorry for the spamminess today Sean.  Really appreciate your input though, it’s awesome.

To stick with the other pregens, I picked two XP conditions for these:

    Speeder:

    • A system is pushed to the limit.

    or

    • A bold act fails spectacularly.

    Ranger:

    choose one:

    • A needed item is scrounged up.

    or

    • A problem is resolved with firepower.

    Investigator:

    choose one:

    • An experiment yields surprising results.

    or

    • An act is performed covertly.

  7. Sean Gomes I like to loosely follow the “Tight DW One Shots” guide even in UW, which recommends leveling up mid way through.  To that end, I explain what the XP triggers are because I think by selecting one it gives us all ideas for what we want to happen in the session.

  8. Larp Wellington thanks, will add them in this weekend.

Sean Gomes Thought you might laugh at the Speeder’s use last night of the Recklessness move:  he snuck into a secure office and got locked into it, so when he was trying to leave he found the keypad.  He says, “I see he has that old folk song “867-5309″ in his music collection.  I bet that’s the code!”.  Rolled a 4.

Maybe a bit of a stretch on the interpretation, but it was his first game so we rolled with it!

Overall good fun last night, thanks for your help!
