New to this game, just read the rules and I love it. I think. I’m not sure I understand the powers. If I have something like ‘martial arts master’ at easy, then I could take out a couple of muggers without rolling, right? You only roll if there would be an actual threat in the narrative.
Unrelated (sorta), Just watched Jessica Jones and wondered if a good Killgrave character would be possible, or if it would make a fun character, or it would just be too over powered. The Villain, would have to know about the Mind Control hero to make an interesting story.
The Simple, Difficult, Borderline entries are specific uses of your abilities. So “martial arts master” is your ability, but under Simple you would write “take down a handful of armed but amateur fighters” or “take down a skilled cell of ninja warriors” or whatever your hero can do easily.
And so on and so forth up the difficulties. The Simple/Borderline/Etc tiers are for specific usages of whatever your ability(s)/power(s) might be; specific feats you can accomplish.
Otherwise, I think you’ve got it dead on. If it’s simple, you can pretty much just do it unless there’s something interfering directly; the next level up you can do as long as you have time to focus; etc.
Ah… Okay. Yeah. I really want to give this game a go.
I would really like to see more pop supers stated up (Spider-man, Superman, etc). Are those around anywhere? Those would help me get my head around this.
As a matter of fact:
Spider-man, built by the game designer https://plus.google.com/+KyleSimons/posts/eCcbk3f4usw
And Superboy https://plus.google.com/+KyleSimons/posts/FCp6swFX9CE and Batman https://plus.google.com/+KyleSimons/posts/cheXyKNsJQa
A few of the X-Men should be floating around somewhere too – I think they’re bundled with the latest play aides.
