Looking at the pre-release playbooks, the Nova can unlock their Moment of Truth 3 times. Is that intentional?

  1. I have to imagine it is. If it’s not, it should be. The Moment of Truth is the number one way to just be TOO powerful. That’s the Nova’s thing (other than playing the condition market).

  2. That seems very off. Since they also get the opportunity to unlock a label as a separate advance, that means they can lock four of their labels–which means they effectively lock all of them and answer most questions about who they are, well before growing up.

I choose to believe it’s a typo based on that. It’s too counter to the “figuring out who you are” side of the game.

  3. James Etheridge Oh yeah, I forgot about that aspect of Moment of Truth. In that case, I hope it’s a typo as well.

This also marks the first time I realized that all characters can end up with three stats locked. Ehhhhhhh. Not sure I’m into that, even. I guess it’s balanced and dettered by increasing the likelihood of conditions.

  4. I think the balancing factor is that by the time you’ve locked all three labels, you should be pretty close to retiring your character via one route or another. The whole game is basically a personal growth arc, and locking a label means declaring a part of that arc fully explored. If you’ve done that three times, it’s a pretty good indicator that you’re getting ready to wrap up the story, no?
