I’m thinking of running a star wars one shot mid June some time but I’m curious what type of star wars game people like. I don’t want to run any force users yet until FBH is released. I’d love some ideas.

  1. I am personally not a fan of games in existing worlds. I feel like you leave yourself open to “doing it wrong” and this turning off certain players at any given time.

Star Wars especially has a lot of background info that, if you’re not well versed, you will stumble over canon.

  2. Justin Phillips you’d think. I recall getting a nerd “lecture” for trying to hack General Grevious. HE’S GOT A HUMAN BRAIN YOU CANT HACK HUMAN BRAINS. DUH

  3. No Force users available? No problem at all!

Let’s play the more “organized” and “well structured” side, the side that provides for countless jobs and gets the economy rolling by its military-industrial complex. Let’s play Imperials!

How about an undercover squad of loyal imperials rooting out rebel scum for the greater good and the glory of the Empire?

Being the crappy goody-two-shoes has been done over and over and over. But actually believing in doing something good for the vast majority of the Empire’s citizens, defending the civilized society from space TERRORISTS who call themselves “the Rebellion”, that is something to be proud of.

Do the right thing. Just once. DEFEND the Empire!

  4. Frank Falkenberg yes! 1000 times yes. I love imperial games. ISB taking rebel cells, hunting Black Sun operatives and doing battle with the pirates and scum stupid enough to not submit to the empire.

  5. Star Wars (Fantasy Flight Games) divides its game into 3 “flavours”, which is a bit snaky to me since it may compel you to buy their starter boxes or hardcovers 3 times:

Edge of the Empire (rogues, scum and villainy, Han Solo types)

Age of Rebellion (the straight military conflict between Rebels and the Empire)

Force and Destiny (Jedis and Sith)

  6. Space Janitors? Sounds like an old anime called Planetes. It was amazing, and definitely had the type of interpersonal relationships that lend themselves to PbtA.
