  1. I’m interested that you should ask this! We played SotI for the first time this weekend, and the main negative comment (among lots of positives) was that Bonds with NPCs didn’t seem to work that well. About the best you can get out of them is to ask “What would it take for you to do this?” and then provide the incentive. I was thinking of maybe adding in a common move “When you try to persuade an NPC you have a bond with to do something, you can Watch Your Plans Come to Fruition

If you have looked into their heart and done what they ask to get them to act, you can add your Gendered to the roll. If you spend bonds with them to help or hinder what they do you can add 1 more per bond.

On 10+ they do as you have asked and succeed.

7-9 they either try and fail, they don’t try or they compromise the action you wanted in some way the MC will tell you.

On 6- they act contrarily or get into deep difficulties because of what you have done – the MC will say what happens.

I am a little worried this gives males another “social move”, but given how hard it is for most of them to get Bonds except with people they have Relationships with, maybe that would be OK?
