  1. He’s such a great heel. Charismatic, perfect in his role as “The Architect,” does the “cowardly heel” thing well, is believably afraid when things don’t go his way, and that makes him feel beatable.

He’s also freakin’ dynamite in the ring, which makes him a credible threat.

All this makes him a genuine pleasure to watch, IMO

  2. Justin Phillips Which is a bit of a pity, as I think Heel Roman would be genuinely enjoyable. They’re trying a tweener thing with him – which I approve of – but I feel like it’s not necessarily far enough.

Styles’ homies played the heel in the AJ/Roman feud, but Reigns wasn’t not the heel. I felt like it was a very solid example of booking two “good guys” in a conflict, and keeping a believable tension throughout.

But I don’t think that works if Reigns is a pure face.

  3. I think Rollins is a great heel, but a strong face as well (hard to be specific as we don’t have much of a chance to see it) I think Roman is quite good, and has the potential to be great, but he’s just not working as a face and the more he “overcomes the odds” (looks ridiculously dominant and no one even remotely thinks he’s the underdog) the more it backfires and people get more and more annoyed. however because of all that he’d be a great heel, he’s probably got some pent up stuff he wants to say after the work he’s put in only to be viciously booed and people right now really want to boo him. Given time as a heel i think people will start to see how good he is and he can have a great face run.

  4. I will say, I kind of like the character continuity that Rollins, prior to injury, was a petty, shitty person who would cut every corner possible to become, and stay, champion…and unlike the usual “bad guy comes back and is face now because you’re all happy to see him, despite an injury not really changing the fundamental personality of a person”, they kept that, no, Rollins (not the performer, the character) is really just a terrible person, and months away did nothing to change that one bit.
