Has anyone played Deniable, it seems like a spy setting but it looks like they have variations for an X-files, a Homeland and even a Firefly type game.

Joe Sweeney, Stuart McDermid
I own it because of a Humble Bundle, but I thought it was supposed to be more of a comedy type thing
I’ve played it a couple of times. It’s very much a comedy game. We tried to make an actual play video, but I think there were some technical issues.
I’ve only played one shots, and always in the default setting of contemporary London. It helps if you’ve been raised on a steady diet of BBC tv
Is it even AW?
Hi! I wrote Deniable along with Joe Sweeney. It’s Powered by the Apocalypse to a degree (and we credit Vincent in the text).
10+, 7-9, and 6- are there, as is play to find out what happens as well as GM moves, but that’s about it.
Rules wise, it’s about as complex as World of Dungeons.
It’s designed as a comedy game with serious mode as an option. All of my best games of it have been comedy ones.
The aspect that sets it apart is the way the group behaves. You don’t go to places together and solve problems, each player tends to their own thing while the other players take on the roles of their family who make their lives interesting.
Stuart McDermid “Interesting,” the man says. Bloody hilarious, says I. Sort of like Fiasco, only AW flavored.
I’m probably gonna do an “Archer” one shot with it.
Nathaniel Garth Oh, perfect! Let us know how that combination of beehive tetherball, grand ambition, and poor impulse control turns out, would you? (laughs maniacally)
Nathaniel Garth Archer would be interesting. Normally the characters are supposed to be hopeless and incompetent. Hopeless but competent might be interesting. Instead of having a very simple mission, you could have a more difficult one but treat the characters as hyper competent. I reckon I’d fiddle with the 7-9 outcomes to make this happen.
