The trigger for the latest version of Never Give Up, Never Surrender says “When you take a powerful blow from someone with far greater power than you”, so no. I would say it does not mean when you go unconscious. I read “when you go down hard” as simply “when you get your ass kicked real bad”.
Well, I meant it not in literally go unconscious, but in the same way Take A Powerful Blow means “you must remove yourself.” That’s my bad.
