+Aaron Griffin ask me: “tell me more about spanish slang based on 80s movies!”
Well I think there are many, but now, I’ll have to ask for help.
Well, now I remember:
“Solo puede quedar uno” (“There can be only one”) From Highlander. Role player say it more than “normal” people.
A rare slang is when someone listen “Flash” there are some people that complete “aaaaahhh”. But I think it’s more for Queen band. Queen band is very loved in Spain and in my generation. I know role players that do campaigns with some songs.
“la cagaste, Burt Lancaster” (you have a critical Fail, Burt Lancaster) Burt Lancaster was very loved star and the sentence has this rhyme.
A confused friend say me :D:D: “You have more tables than Rolemaster” or “if it has stats it can die”. This last sentence came from Conan film or novels or comics.
“Sayonara, baby” – Terminator “hasta la vista, baby”
Yipi ka yei, hijoputa – Die Hard “Yipi ka yei, motherfucker”
Volveré – “I’ll come back”, but I don’t remeber the movie. I think is Terminator.
Me encanta que los planes salgan bien – A Team, Hannibal Smith.
“El día de la marmota” 90’s, Groundhog Day. The title in Spain was “Atrapado en el tiempo”.
“¿Qué han hecho por nosotros los romanos?” – Life of Brian ’79. I guess “What have the Romans done for us?”
Role-player Slang: “Heridas más graves he sufrido” – from ’75: Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I guess “more serious injuries I suffered”. Very Runequest sentence XD, and movie scene.
