When your ship is a playbook, you can change the feel of the game in some interesting ways by making different ships.

Instead of Serenity or the Millennium Falcon, you can fly the Normandy, or the Andromeda, or Moya from Farscape.

Your PCs can bring their community with them. They can have a fighter bay full of space fighters, or giant robots.

The new versions of ships rules will be more user friendly, more tied to the fiction, and more varied.

  1. Ryan M. Danks it’s excerpts from the new versions of the ship playbooks for Impulse Drive, my PBTA game about misfits and spaceships.

I got to test them out today, and they definitely played better than the old versions.
