I’ve been trying figure out a update to The Angel’s “Messenger” move. Since the move changed from “Metatron” to “Joan of Arc” in theme and outcome, I decided to split it into two separate moves:
Prophecy: When times are dire and you turn to your LORD for guidance, roll +Spirit.
On a 10+ your LORD offers you clear and concise guidance for your current situation. Take +1 Ongoing in carrying out his will. Additionally, you may mark corruption to ask a followup question.
On a 7-9, the answer is mired in symbolism and sacrifice, but surely must apply to the current situation somehow. Take +1 Forward. Additionally, you may mark corruption to ask a followup question.
On a miss, your LORD has turned his back to you. Take -1 to Spirit until you find a way to appease him.
Judgement: When you can tolerate the sin of mortals no more, roll +Blood.
On a 10+ pick 3.
On a 7-9 pick 2.
*Heal 2-Harm
*Gain +Holy to all attacks or the scene.
*Gain +1 Armor for the scene.
*Take no pleasure in it, thus avoiding a mark of corruption.
On a miss, pick 1, but it cannot be “Take no pleasure in it.”
They probably still need a bit of work, but it feels like a good starting point.
