Hi all.

Hi all.

Hi all.

I’m just looking for some advice on creating a move.

I’m currently planning a small campaign for my group using ‘The Regiment’ hack of Apocalypse World. In short my group will play members of a PMC tasked with assessing and neutralising terrorist networks on behalf of the client. The moves as they are work great but I’m struggling to make a move that would adequately show breach and clear/CQB tactics.

Does anyone here have experience with the hack that could help?

Thank you for your assistance!

  1. Yep, that’s definitely an area that’s not well covered by rules. Maybe, walk us through the tactics and let’s see what rules might apply to figure out what rules are missing.

  2. Thanks for the responses!

Ultimately, a move beyond ‘Assualt’ may not be necessary.

As such actions will be a common feature in the campaign I was looking at making a move that reflects the dramatic, over in seconds, nature of a room clearence.

In reality at least 2 team members will breach a room, usually through a door. They are usually preceeded by a frag/flash grenade to disrupt the enemy and given them time to get through the door way aka fatal funnel before commencing in a tightly controlled, point blank shooting match. Aggression is everything.

    So my current thoughts are:

Player initiating the breach rolls +tactics taking +1 to the roll for every other team member involved.

    ….

  3. Thanks for your help guys I appreciate it. Thinking about the problem a little more I have decided I will use the moves that are currently available. If myself and the group don’t think they add the necessary flavour we will see what we come up with.

I’ll keep you informed as to how the campaign goes!

    Thanks again
