  1. Considering the work he’s been putting in since the brand split, Dolph has been anything but boring to me. Incredible matches minus that egg he and Ambrose laid at Summerslam, but his match with Miz at Backlash, plus the stuff he’s been doing every Tuesday….I’m more than willing to give him his well deserved fresh start and see him succeed.

  2. Also, not sure how a loss to Ziggler, or him dropping the strap = losing Prime heel Miz. He’s still gonna be the Miz and if there was one superstar who is least affected by doing the job, it’s him.

  3. Miz dropping the white leather means he’s going to be forced to chase the belt, which is a face thing to do. That means either he is going to be forced into a turn or dropped down the card and removed from the hunt. Those outcomes means losing a prime heel.

  4. Plus he’s losing the title in the only fued he’s had since his epic talking smack promo. So much for the hopes of the ‘neverending’ reign and him being the heel champion everyone wants to see lose the title.

  5. You can have heels chasing the belt — look at Bobby Heenan and his stable, chasing after Hogan for years during the mid-80’s.

Personally, I’d like to see Ziggler win it.  I suspect it won’t be the longest of reigns, but I like seeing a fire lit under Ziggler.

Also, this may sound like a small silly thing, but Ziggler needs a new finisher.  Christening a new one with Miz’s skull might be a fun way to punctuate the No Mercy match.

  6. That could be fun.  An oldie but a goodie.  Or along the same lines, maybe he ditches the name “Dolph Ziggler” for something else, to get a fresh start.

  7. A moment I wish had happened: when Ziggler accused Miz of cheating

“You want to complain about me cheating? Your mom’s right over there, go on over and cry to her about it cause I don’t give a damn”

  8. I think Miz being super hot right now is the reason he’s going to lose the belt. By defeating Miz, Dolph’s heat gets a shot in the arm (especially if he can maintain this level of promo delivery) that he so desperately needs, and it then lights a fire under Miz to go after Dolph with the knives out.

Also, the IC division needs a reset — KO moved on to the main event, Sami Zayn’s feuding with Jericho for the moment, Cesaro and Shaemus look to be headed to the tag division — so who else is chasing the IC belt besides Dolph right now? Put the strap on Dolph, reinvigorate a proper feud with Miz, get some side challengers to spice things up and build for future challenges — voila.

  9. The problem with constantly resetting the IC division is that it constantly devalues the title. Mis with a nice long title run where he keeps barely getting by in his defenses, but still consistently defends it raises the value of it.

Yes, Ziggler has had some good promos, but him winning now after losing so often doesn’t do much to raise him.

As for who else is in the picture. That’s kind of the point, they just keep tossing us Ziggler instead of building up anyone else.
