So with more knowlege of the sort of matrix designs I developed one for one of my complicated matrix runs. They are going into an arcology to extract someone, and I want to make it as much work for the hacker as it is for everyone else.

  1. I’m just going to comment with poor sentence structure, because I dont feel like editing it on my phone:

I think this is great and amazing and organized, and I love it. This is definitely a cool way of doing a matrix run. Like an unraveling sort of labyrinthian sort of thing. This seems like it’s going to be an absolutely grueling mission.

Also, having the options pre-planned can make the description of the matrix less linear, which is cool.

  2. That’s kind of why I did this.  I wasn’t quite grocking it either, so I looked at some of the samples from the development time, and then drew out a larger more complicated run.

  3. Microsoft Word.  Its a smart charts option and one of them is a pretty solid flowchart style design.  It too a little finagling to figure out how to make it work, and it couldn’t do a few things I wanted, but it was easy to work around those things.

  4. Oh man, that is a nice way to handle matrix systems. I did some digging for non-drawing ways to make flowcharts like that and:

Google Sheets has a relatively quick org chart generator – it’s kind of limited, but I do like that you just type a bunch of nodes, identify their parent node, and the Matrix system takes shape before your eyes.

As with most Google Sheets stuff, your formatting is very limited.

Another option is Lucidchart. I just spent a minute experimenting with the free version Lucidchart to import so I can do some color/font changes for readability and it worked out ok. It’s a bit more time consuming, but still quicker than hand drawing each node/connection.

You have to import from a csv.
