Hi

Hi

Hi

An idea that I have been toying with in my head for a while and I wanted to throw it out there. Has anyone ever tried attaching Moves to Titles? I was thinking mostly of Moves that you can use while holding the specific title but as I was writing this it also hit me that you could attach Moves that anyone can use while interacting with you.

Any experiences or ideas?

I was mostly thinking of it as a way of using the titles for storyline effects and having the titles make an impact on the stories around them.

  1. Hmm. Well, there is the move for defending a title and moves that allow a wrestler to challenge a title holder, as well as hard moves that could put a title on the line. I think it would be interesting to give the titles themselves moves, but I agree they should be narrative. Maybe something like how Foley as a hardcore champ was different from Crash was different from etc..

  2. I actually think it’d be cool to have a move where you go after a title that you’ve already won before. Also, I have been pondering a simple system where players can add/lower prestige to a belt. I think I’ll have to finish it and post it.

  3. I think it’s a great idea! Having a Move “attached” to a title isn’t inherently different from any other Move. That said, I would think about a model similar to the Role Moves, so it’s something that basically gives you more options to do specific things while you hold it. Maybe that’s not the best way to think about it, but it’s where I would start if I was thinking about it.

  4. This was the first I came up with, it stems from the fickle nature of title rematches:

All titles add the following Move:

Rematch: When you lose this title you may immediately pay 1 Momentum to get a rematch for the title. You don’t determine when the rematch happens but it must be granted. If you do not pay the momentum the rematch will be ignored, forgotten or overlooked.

  5. I like this idea. Mostly because I am a fan of how different all the titles feel in NJPW. The matches seem different and they play into a continued narrative of that title. Ref: Consider the Intercontinental title since Shinsuke.

  6. I am starting a new campaign with some friends and we decided to remove the Advance for winning a title. Mostly to avoid the temptation of playing “hot potato” with the titles. Instead you get the option of creating a Move that will reflect your title reign in some way, but if you can’t think of one, don’t create one.
