Question- the world of the legacy game I am running is wracked by a psychic maelstrom from the Fall. One of the players asked if he could be essentially the Brainer or Savyhead from Apocalypse World. The Savyhead I have paralleled to the Scavenger but Brainer I can think of anything.
Is there any opinions how i can represent something attuned or talented in the tapping of the Maelstrom?
The Promethean from Mirrors in the Ruins would make a pretty good Savvyhead too, if you wanted a more high-tech option.
The Brainer is a bit harder – I reckon you may need to make some custom moves no matter what you go with. The closest would probably be the Seeker – I’d just rewrite Visionary Archeologist to cover people instead of places, and Experimental Energy Projector to be psychic and inherent rather than energy-based and from a device. Alternatively, the Remnant would work if you’re OK with your psychics being more Tetsuo-y! In that case, maybe replace Eternal Memories with something like the Brainer’s Deep Brain Scan.
I’d go with the Promethean and definitely the Remnant!
