  1. We all had a lot of fun making characters, although it took our group the whole 4 hour session to finish, leaving us no time to actually play!

    The team is:

Kid Dracul, a Doomed host to a parasitic alien prince, dressed as a vampire

Mr Muscle, a bodybuilding Nova with gravity control powers who wants to surpass the greatest heroes

Ilex, a plant-based Outsider who is horrified at how Earth treats its trees, but doesn’t want to leave yet

Shazam!, a Delinquent who stole their uncle’s magic book, hoping for card tricks but getting a lot more

Mercury, a metal-skinned Transformed, whose only remaining human feature is her eyes.

I’m really proud of the group. One player was entirely new to role playing, and most of the rest have only ever played D&D, and most us us (myself as GM included) are a bit hesitant when it comes to less rulesy systems, and the more improvisational nature of Masks.

Now I have a few weeks to prepare for the first session of actually playing.

  2. It’s not unusual to spend the entire first session with character generation and group set-up. It’s actually a good sign that your group spent that amount of time to make sure everyone’s ready to rock. 🙂
